Cook - Glen at Hiland Meadows Queensbury NY - Part Time Days

The Glen at Hiland Meadows, an elegant senior retirement community in Queensbury, is seeking an experienced COOK who enjoys preparing dishes aligned with fine dining with excellent presentation

What you will do:
  • We are seeking an experienced Cook!
  • The position does require weekend coverage.

Responsibilities:
  • The Cook is responsible for creative menu and food preparation consistent with expectations of restaurant quality meals. The Cook would also maintain food supplies in stock, pans and displays products as needed, as well as maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the counter areas, stove, grill and fryolator.
  • Restaurant experience in fine dining establishment
  • Food prep specific to special diets
  • Must be willing to float day's, evenings, weekends/holidays.

What you will need:

  • Must have the ability to read, write and speak English, follow written and verbal instructions and complete high school level computational skills
  • High School diploma preferred
  • 1-3 years food production cooking experience, in healthcare environment desirable, but not required.
  • Knowledge of modified diets principles
  • Safe, sanitary food handling techniques
