Provide technical support for the day-to-day operation of high-volume automated production lines. Identification and team support of key technology improvements. Provide administrative functions and oversight for ICS production networks.

This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for :

  • Provide full support for the automated manufacturing lines projects including, but not limited to the administration of the SCADA systems, Level 1 and 2 manufacturing equipment and instrumentation, industrial labeling (SATO, Zebra, Intermec) and associated peripheral systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function as a team member and individual on projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Provide technical input for business and productivity initiatives.
  • Provide training to skilled trades, production, and engineering staff in the setup, use, and maintenance of the manufacturing assembly systems in support of design changes.
  • You will develop relationships and specifications with control hardware and/or software suppliers to meet automation project requirements.
  • You will provide full support to site engineers, production lines and cross functional teams.
  • You will employ new technologies for troubleshooting and improve current automation infrastructure, using root cause analysis and data-driven decision-making approach.
  • You will be part of process validation and site process improvements following Good Manufacturing Practices within FDA current regulations.

  • You have background in automation systems for main market brands (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Cognex, Fanuc). Your deep knowledge in automation systems shall be not limited in PLCs programming, but also HMIs development, SCADA systems, Vision systems, motion control and robotic systems (4 and 5 axis).
  • You have expertise with industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, serial protocols) for designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting in highly dense industrial network environments.
  • You have adept knowledge in IT environments and strong computer skills. You will be responsible to design, upgrade, monitor and maintain critical IT assets (Servers, virtual machines, network devices, computers).
  • You can demonstrate wide knowledge using CAD software, like AutoCAD and/or Solidworks. You will be responsible to review and modify electrical drawings, machine layouts or components.
  • You have coding skills (e.g. object-oriented programing, SQL, etc.); therefore, you'll be in charge to understand and document technical requirements for existing automation infrastructure, as well as, future automation projects.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility is expected as part of automation projects validation.
  • You have very good presentation and mentoring skills; therefore, you'll be providing training to skilled trades, production and engineering staff in the setup, use, and maintenance of manufacturing assembly systems.
Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • BS degree or equivalent experience (i.e. Electrical, Software disciplines)
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • PLC, & vision experience

The pay range for this position is $67,200- $92,400 annually applies to candidates hired in the US only; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The annual incentive target is 6% of base pay. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
