We're looking for a content specialist/copywriter to help elevate the Waystar brand. The ideal candidate can translate complicated technology and industry information into sleek, compelling copy. In this role, you will create content to support awareness of Waystar in the market and propel our brand forward, as well as work on specific messaging for prospects, clients and partners.

We are looking for someone who challenges the accepted ways of doing things, while cheerfully executing and fine-tuning once the team has decided on a direction. We work really hard, but we have great time doing it.

This position reports to the marketing content director and works alongside two other members of the content team, in close collaboration with the larger marketing team of 15-20 team members. This position is located in downtown Chicago. Although we are working remotely for the time being, we will be returning to the office when it is safe to do so.

What you'll be doing:

  • Write copy for a brand identity that is modern and differentiating and conveys a strong story
  • Create content that balances robust product information with convincing, readable copy
  • Develop the copy assets to support campaigns, including email, landing pages, digital ads, print ads, PowerPoint presentations and video, blog posts and more
  • Contribute to social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities, actively participating in planning, content creation and monitoring
  • Assist with copy for internal branding and communications efforts
  • Collaborate with the design team to balance copy with design

    What we're looking for:
    • 7+ years experience in marketing copywriting, preferably B2B
    • Experience in healthcare, tech or payments a plus
    • Bachelor's degree in English, marketing or similarly applicable area
    • Thinks creatively and critically
    • Loves to write copy and wrestle appealing turns of phrase out of technical content
    • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, switching gears quickly as needed
    • Ability to independently manage and execute long-term projects
    • Ability to absorb and apply constructive feedback
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Google Docs/Sheets
    • Experience with Marketo and content management systems a plus
    • Knowledge of social media best practices
