JOB DESCRIPTION

The Consumer Insights Analyst will support research and category management efforts to pursue specific markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research to identify customer preferences, needs, and attitudes
  • Monitoring industry trends to identify opportunities for new products or markets that could benefit the company
  • Reviewing data to identify patterns in customer behavior or preferences
  • Reviewing historical data to identify trends in customer behavior or preferences over time
  • Analyze data using statistics programs, predictive analytics and other data-driven tools
  • Convert complex data findings into text, tables, graphs and data visualizations
  • Compiling reports based on findings from research and data analysis to provide recommendations for decision makers
  • Work with internal departments to present clear reports to clients and management
Skills:
  • Effective Communication: Developing strong relationships with consumers, research participants, fellow researchers, clients, and management; presenting results in a language non-technical audiences can understand
  • Analytic Problem-Solving: Processing a large amount of complex data with precision and translating it into measurable results.
  • Critical Thinking: Maintaining an innate curiosity about consumers; assessing all available information to make key business decisions.
  • Effective Communication: Developing strong relationships with consumers, research participants, fellow researchers, clients, and management; presenting results in a language non-technical audiences can understand
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding the way the Home Improvement industry functions and how data is collected, analyzed and utilized.
  • Excellent Writing Skills: Communicating data and research implications in a meaningful and engaging way to clients; strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality research reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, marketing, statistics, or related field
  • 2-3 years' experience with quantitative research analysis required
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Able to synthesize information into key findings and executive summaries
  • Ability to produce high-standard, presentation-ready deliverables
