Compensation: $24.04 hourly; $25.31 hourly QMHP
Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $1500 sign-on bonus* for Community Support Specialist positions; additional $500 sign-on bonus* for Qualified Mental Health Professionals. The Community Support Specialist of Adapt of Missouri is responsible for assisting clients with severe and persistent mental illness to live successfully and to their satisfaction in the community. This is accomplished by using an assertive case management outreach approach based on the Rehabilitation Model. Services include housing acquisition, intensive case management, psychiatric rehabilitation, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, resource acquisition (vocational, educational, rental and utility assistance, substance abuse, medication), service coordination and development of a natural support system. The hours of employment are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, though hours may vary depending on the needs of the clients. This position requires transporting client in personal automobile. This position requires participation in an on-call crisis intervention rotation.

The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.

Education/ Experience: One of the qualifying categories listed below
Bachelor's degree in human services field, which includes social work, psychology, nursing, education, criminal justice, recreational therapy, human development, family studies, counseling, child development, gerontology, sociology, human services, behavioral science, rehabilitation, counseling or related fields;
Any four year degree and one year of qualifying experience;
Any four year combination of higher education and qualifying experience;
Four years of qualifying experience.
Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: Upon hire, applicants will maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, CPI and Medication Level I Aide provided by the agency.
Requirements: Must have an automobile, a valid Missouri driver's license (upon hire) with a clean driving record (no major violation) and current automobile insurance with required coverage limits. Willingness to serve clients in a variety of community settings and neighborhoods.
