Job Summary

Manages internal and external activities of Public Affairs function to advance the company's strategy, vision, purpose, goals, and culture. Assists Public Affairs team in company-wide communication and engagement activities working with all levels of employee groups including senior management. Focuses on internal communications, social media, community relations and administrative activities, supporting external communications and brand management as necessary.

What you will be responsible for

  • Assists in creating internal communications including writing, editing, reviewing, posting and analytics of intranet content.
  • Facilitates company-wide employee engagement campaigns; including content development, planning and event management of all employee meetings and executive town halls.
  • Drafts and edits company-wide strategy, business function and executive communications.
  • Manages public affairs resource accounts.
  • Supports external communication activities including managing external website content, monitoring and developing social media content, and supporting the Public Affairs Manager with media statements, press release drafts, and executive messages.
  • Assists with company-wide community relations and engagement activities including corporate giving and sponsorship management, event management, employee matching gift, volunteer program support, and internal and external promotion of company volunteer activities.
  • Manages Public Affairs vendor accounts, metric collection and activity reports, and company branded goods store.
  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations,or a similar degree field and/or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years related experience is required although employees typically have 2-5 years; oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience supporting company intranet or website postings
  • Experience with external media or crisis communications andsocial media engagement
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and editing skills
  • Familiarity with communication strategies and community relations activities
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, be a self-starter, and interact with various employee groups from new hires to senior management
  • Ability to multi-task and work with multiple deadlines
  • Project management and influencing skills preferred
Special Demands

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machine or file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this job is \$61,600- \$98,500
