This position will be working on financial applications, primarily payrolls (either subscriber payroll or a provider payroll). These are high-profile, mission critical applications that deal with hundreds of millions of dollars every week. So it's critical that we get someone with attention to detail and testing as well as someone who can work with business stakeholders to juggle priorities and ensure that all stakeholders are satisfied with the output. It's a very visible position and it offers the opportunity to really make a contribution to the organization. The skills needed:

Required:
Minimum 5 years mainframe development
COBOL and JCL skills
VSAM, sequential files and other batch processing
DB2 and SQL skills
CICS
College Degree Required

Preferred but not required:
General knowledge of claims, health insurance and accounting principles are beneficial

Other skills:
Comfortable assuming responsibility for important technical processes
Teamwork oriented
Ability to communicate and develop working relationships with internal and external contacts
Ability to work in a remote environment and utilize remote work tools such as instant messenger, video conferencing, etc.
Must be able to research JCL and COBOL code to determine system function
Understand how to test software changes
Ability to accept and learn new technologies
