Position Summary: Machine, program, inspect, and assemble products. Routing work, processing jobs accurately, safely, efficiently, and on time.

Role Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives.
  • Be aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of quality objectives.

Position responsibilities:
  • Machine various details to print.
  • Read and understand blue prints, customer specifications and internal documentation.
  • Assemble, inspect and load test parts and tools/fixtures.
  • Efficiently plan and program machining operations.
  • Analyze specification charts, samples and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements
  • Develop a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications
  • Measure and mark raw materials needed to manufacture parts
  • Set up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
  • Operate equipment to carry out each step correctly
  • Monitor the production process and intervene when problems arise
  • Inspect finished parts for flaws and defects
  • Maintain equipment located throughout the machine shop
  • Keep area clean and neat.
  • Comply with all safety standards.
  • Effectively communicate with Machine Shop Supervisor to ensure completion dates are met.
  • Work well with Manufacturing and Management personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • 2 or more years of machinist experience preferred.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing
  • Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes and milling machines
  • Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process

Reporting to this position: No direct reports.

  • Understand the Company's EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company's Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training
