Job Description

As a Cloud Support Intern, you will join our dynamic cloud operations team to assist in managing and supporting our AWS cloud infrastructure. This entry-level role is designed for individuals passionate about technology and eager to develop their skills in cloud computing. You will work closely with experienced engineers and support staff, providing essential support to both internal and external clients. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with AWS services and learn the fundamentals of cloud architecture, troubleshooting, and customer support.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic cloud-related issues reported by clients or internal teams.
  • Monitor cloud environments using AWS Management Console and third-party tools, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Participate in creating and updating documentation for cloud best practices, configurations, and procedures.
  • Support the deployment of new applications and services on AWS, following guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate with other interns and team members on projects aimed at improving our cloud infrastructure's efficiency and reliability.
  • Engage in training sessions and workshops to build your knowledge of AWS services and cloud computing principles.

Job Responsibilities
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Enrollment or Recent Graduation: The candidate should be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational Knowledge of Cloud Computing: Basic understanding of cloud services and deployment models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Exposure to a Cloud Platform: Some familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), with a preference for AWS given your team's focus.
  • Programming Skills: Basic proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash).
  • Understanding of Networking Concepts: Basics of networking such as IP addresses, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Development Tools: Knowledge of Git, IDEs (e.g., VS Code, Eclipse), and CI/CD concepts.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate ideas and collaborate with the team.
  • Certifications: Any foundational certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) is a plus but not required.
  • Project Experience: Any practical experience with cloud-based projects, even academic or hobbyist projects, that demonstrate hands-on experience.
