Role Overview

We are growing our Cloud Solutions team within the Arm infrastructure line of business. We are looking for people that will help us continue the rapid adoption of Arm IP in the cloud. Our growth is sustained by making significant investments in the success of our partners and customers. The work we do includes building cloud to edge infrastructure solutions, contributing to open source projects, educating developers around the world, and performance analysis.

This role is for a mid-level engineer that is motivated to learn and gain experience in a wide breadth of areas including Containers/VMs orchestration, Networking, machine learning, distributed storage, video transcoding, and chip architecture. You will explore applications, libraries, operating systems, firmware, and hardware.

As noted above, this is a mid-level engineer role, but depending on the candidates that apply, we can make some adjustments to the responsibilities and grade.
Responsibilities:

  • Build cloud based solutions to showcase how Arm IP helps our customers and partners differentiate themselves from their competition.
  • Performance and competitive analysis of cloud based workloads (e.g. nosql/sql databases, service mesh, event streaming, storage, ML, etc.)
  • Write blogs & whitepapers showcasing Arm based cloud solutions, proof of concepts, and performance results.
  • Support and expand the Arm software ecosystem by contributing to open source projects.
  • Build and deliver presentations for internal and external partner/customer meetings.
  • Serve as technical adviser in customer meetings.
Requirements:
  • Experience with at least one Public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, OCI, etc).
  • Development experience in either Golang, Java, Python, or C/C++.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (OSI layers, firewalls, VLAN, overlays, etc.).
  • Understanding of how software is built and run (compilers, linkers, bytecode/runtimes, etc.).
  • Linux OS concepts like scheduler, network stack, drivers, memory management.
  • Basic performance analysis like understanding CPU utilization, identifying thread syncing issues, identifying networking & disk bottlenecks, etc.
  • Comfortable writing blogs/whitepapers and giving presentations.
  • Knowledge of standard Linux tools, shell, and version control systems such as git
Nice to haves for this role:
  • Experience building and deploying Cloud Native Applications.
  • Experience with the following: Make, GCC, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker/Containers, virtual machines, microservice architectures, service mesh.
  • Deep performance analysis like profiling, performance counters, and using eBPF for analysis.
  • Software Defined Networking experience.
  • Understanding of basic SoC design and computer architecture concepts.
  • Experience with tuning the Linux OS for performance.
