Job Summary:


It is the mission of New Hope Transitional Support Services to help addicted individuals achieve a recovering lifestyle. This mission is accomplished by providing short term structured support services to individuals leaving detoxification and waiting for a recovery home bed. It is the commitment of the program that these services are provided in a safe environment by staff who respect the dignity and diversity of all guests.
Your responsibility as Clinical Director is to plan, organize and carry out all clinical responsibilities in the program; orient, instruct and supervise clinical staff; comply with all established policies and procedures; perform the duties of direct care staff as required and represent the Program Director in his absence.

Requirements for the Position

Professional Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in social work
  • Licensed in Massachusetts
  • A minimum of five years experience in direct clinical supervision of staff
  • A minimum of two years management experience in substance abuse treatment or in a mental health setting
  • A thorough knowledge of treatment resources available for substance abuse clients

  • Ability to interpret principals of good management and implement application of these principals in daily work

  • Ability to articulate and communicate Bay Cove's mission and strategic direction in a consistent and enthusiastic manner to departmental staff
  • A COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the position. One COVID-19 shot is acceptable, contingent on the individual receiving the second shot within the allotted time frame.

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Plan effective clinical administration of the TSS program, including analyzing and evaluating staff needs, interpreting principles of quality case management to the clinical staff and implementing the application of these principles in daily work.
  • Plan staff work schedule, ensuring case management coverage from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
  • Review and update Case Manager job description as deemed necessary.
  • Review and evaluate work performance against accepted standards and guidelines.
  • Provide one (1) hour of supervision to Case Managers weekly.
  • Conduct daily clinical rounds with Case Aide Supervisor, Nurse Supervisor and Case Managers to review current status of each program guest.
  • Conduct case reviews on all new admissions within 72 hours of intake to determine appropriate ISPs.
  • Participate in in-service trainings and educational programs.
  • Conduct orientation for new personnel.
  • Evaluate the medical, social, psychological and motivational needs of each program guest.
  • Evaluate special incidents to determine appropriate action to be taken, notify Program Director and complete Special Incident Reports.
  • Handle client and clinical staff grievances and forward to Program Director where appropriate.
  • Maintain statistics and prepare monthly reports for BayCove Human Services, Inc.
  • Supervise Case Managers in the development of Individual Service Plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Read the communications log upon arrival daily.
  • Follow up on any special incidents.
  • Review the daily census.
  • Schedule intakes based upon projected discharges, admissions and utilization rate.
  • Review all new referrals.
  • Review all pending referrals to make final disposition.
  • Conduct admissions.
  • Schedule clinical review with case managers within 48 hours of intake.
  • Conduct daily clinical rounds with Case Aide Supervisor, Nurse Supervisor and Case Managers.
  • Monitor daily groups for style and format.
  • Provide weekly training seminars in such areas as self-disclosure and boundaries, group style and client records.
  • Interview and hires case management staff.
  • Review and audit case records at a minimum of once per month.
