The Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, and is located in Fountain Valley, CA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

To perform accurate and timely support functions for accounts receivable including but not limited to check applications, credit card reconciliations, customer phone calls, invoice submissions and collecting on past due major accounts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions.
  • Collects on all major accounts and reconciles invoices daily.
  • Assists with customer inquiries, i.e. copies of invoices, questions regarding invoices and payments due.
  • Generates correspondence as directed by the department.
  • Processes customer refunds as directed.
  • Contacts customers to get updated billing information.
  • Maintains recordkeeping of credit transactions, deposits and payments and communicates with delinquent customers to make payment.
  • Requests trade and bank references, as directed.
  • Maintains AR filing as necessary.
  • Generate monthly reports, as directed.
  • Reviews all incoming credit applications.
  • All other duties as assigned and/or required.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Computer knowledgeable with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and efficient 10-key capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team toward meeting department goals.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with command of the English language.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2-4 years' recent work experience in accounting.
  • Some college accounting courses, a plus
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
