RESPONSIBILITIES:

Rapidly growing , multi-unit retail organization based in North Carolina seeks Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The new CFO will work with CEO, other senior executives and private equity investors.Responsibilities:

• In this role, the CFO will oversee all financial function, including financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, capex spend, audit, tax, and cash management
• Develop analytical tools to provide insight and assist in recommendations
• Work with senior executives to evaluate opportunities for new locations and investments to upgrade existing sites
• Oversee financial and operational elements of potential M&A opportunities
• Prepare/present consolidated monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by location, forecast vs. budget vs. prior year by location, monthly balance sheet and weekly cash flow
• Review and analyze consolidated monthly financial results
• Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget and forecast
• Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems,
• The CFO will review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance and financial procedures
• Oversee the preparation /filing of local, state and federal US and international tax returns
• Oversee the month-end close process,
• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems as needed
• Hire, develop and manage accounting directors, managers and staff
• Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability
• Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential returns and risks to Board and CEO
• As a CFO, you will develop a finance committee to develop short term and long-term plans, projections and budgets

REQUIREMENTS:

• CPA; Degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA a plus)
• Previous Big Four or similar accounting firm experience
• 15+ years of total accounting or finance experience
• 5+ years of recent experience as CFO or VP finance in multi-unit Company
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance
• Experienced in coordinating with IT staff to manage and upgrade accounting and ERP systems. Systems implementation experience preferred
• Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence - ability to motivate staff along with outstanding communication/presentation skills
• Experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues
• Willingness to relocate to North Carolina or travel here on a weekly basis
