SUMMARY

The Cargo Training Instructor will be responsible for developing training curriculums, provide in-class training sessions, and manage training files for all cargo operations employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, but not limited to:

The Cargo Training Instructor will report to the head of Cargo Operations. The instructor will ensure that all cargo operations employees receive a progressive training curriculum of all cargo handling functions related to industry standards, Federal Regulations, and Company policies. The trainer will lead a multi-cultural and fast-paced cargo operation to raise employee’s operational skill level of cargo, awareness, safety, best practice, and compliance.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS;

This position will conduct all training sessions with the utmost care for accurate and safe cargo handling. All training curriculums must be complete within a reasonable time and ahead of before recertification dates. The Cargo Operations Instructor will need to provide comprehensive training files for audit at any moment. This position will be subject to trained employee performance audits for evaluation of training efficiencies.

  • Conduct mandatory training seminars for initial, recurrent, and operational training programs.
  • Supervise trainees during LMS training sessions and audit performance assessments.
  • Provide counseling and coaching during training and refresher sessions.
  • Meet with Safety and Training teams to communicate training needs.
  • Develop positive relationships with operational specialist.
  • Update and maintain training curriculums based on new policies, technology, and Company initiatives.
  • Assist with cargo movement as necessary.
  • Other ground and cargo handling duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Airline and/ or warehouse cargo handling experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in computer software such as MS Office
  • OSHA certification

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Previous LMS training formats.
  • Lean applications (plus)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • In-depth knowledge of cargo aviation, logistics, and/or warehousing. (required)
  • Supply chain and Logistic management (required)

SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to create and develop effective training curriculum and material.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Work on multiple projects and meet project deadlines.
  • Must be able to travel extensively to domestic and international stations.
  • Attend Train the Trainer seminars and disseminate information during training sessions.
  • Ability to identify risk critical areas and proactively provide solutions.
