A DAY IN THE LIFE

Reporting to the CAD Manager, the AutoCAD Drafter II is responsible for carrying out drafting assignments within the multiple disciplines related to water treatment systems and renewable energy projects using AutoCAD software and converting designs into professional technical drawings. Our project ranges from standard equipment supply to complex international design build efforts.

As a key member of the design team, the AutoCAD Drafter will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
  • Support design engineering projects involving a team of process, mechanical, electrical, control engineers, designers, and sub-consultants to develop comprehensive system design packages.
  • Adhere to and assist in the improvement of company AutoCAD tools, standards and best practices
  • Prepare detail drawings including plot plans, general arrangement drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, control, and electrical drawings.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance of design documents to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  • Technical coordination with all disciplines related to drafting efforts.
  • Learn and understand the highly technical product that our business is delivering to our customers.
  • Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Associate Degree in technical drafting or Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) certifications from Autodesk or another credible institute
  • 5+ years experience in a drafting background, Preferably in Process, Control, Electrical, and Mechanical design
  • Mastery in use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D (release of 2022 or above), experience with Plant 3D and Revit is preferred
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and industry standards
  • Demonstrate understanding of process and instrumentation diagrams and one-line diagram
  • Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, product specifications, and geometric dimensioning
  • Experience developing general arrangements, plans, elevations, details for use of bid documents, fabrication, and construction design packages
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure drawings are accurate according to specifications
  • Detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills
  • Basic Geometry Skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, planning skills and self-starter with a good work ethic and sense of urgency
  • Self-learner and will complete tasks under moderate supervision
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative design team and handle multiple design tasks within a tight schedule
Proficiency with the following AutoCAD Skills:
  • Mastery in Basic 2D commands such as drawing, modify, layers, blocks, and annotations
  • Developing professional drawings templates
  • Sheet set manager
  • Dynamic blocks
  • Attributions
  • Spreadsheets, tables, and OLE objects
  • Annotative texts and blocks
  • Tool Palettes
  • External references and raster images
  • Page layouts, page setup, viewports, and scales
  • Plot styles
  • Layer manager and filtering
  • Custom line types
  • Create, use, and extract attribute data
  • Using different utilities to organize and maintain drawings
  • Streamline repetitive tasks
  • Import and export various file formats
  • Understand AutoCAD 3D environment and modeling workspace
  • Mastery of basic 3D Commands such as Modeling, Solid Editing, Coordinates, and Views
  • Develop and Render moderate to complex 3D objects
PREFFERED SOFTWARE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Efficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Studio session
  • Efficiency developing and implementing CAD Standards/Library
  • Experience with BIM360
  • Experience with AutoCAD LISP
  • Experience with AutoCAD P&IDs
  • Experience with Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks
