Description
The Business Systems Analyst will work as part of a research team whose goal is to ensure good data governance and enable data-driven decision making for the agency. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the Business Systems Analyst will assist with the daily management of the department's grant management system, AmpliFund (SaaS). This will include developing business processes and system configuration. This role will also provide troubleshooting and problem-solving for both staff and customers, working closely with the database administrator and managers to solve issues. The position will require the candidate to have the ability to evaluate program requirements and have a working knowledge of daily operations and priorities across the department. The candidate will need knowledge in data and systems management, as well as strong communication and organization skills.

Examples of Work
• Configuring grant applications and forms

• Creating and documenting workflows and business processes

• Providing customer service and troubleshooting assistance to staff and customers

• Developing training materials and delivering training for staff and customers

• Building and delivering reports and dashboards

• Auditing and performing quality checks on data, processes and system performance
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process applications. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in economics, business, or an information science field or a related field. Experience in a related field may substitute for education on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED: Experience in grant management systems (or related systems), data analysis, economic development research, and data communication is preferred. Also preferred is having skills and experience described in the 'Knowledge, skills, and abilities" section.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: relational databases, federal grant programs, government sector operations and state level economic development are preferred. Skill in: AmpliFund or other database/SAAS, project management, R, and data visualization platforms (such as Microsoft PowerBI) are also preferred.
