Responsibilities

How Will You Contribute to the Company?

Cradlepoint is actively seeking a Business Intelligence Database Administrator to join their Data and Analytics team. The successful candidate will use their dimensional data modeling skills, SQL expertise, and DBA skills to design, build, and maintain database schemas and enable role-based data access control within the Snowflake cloud database platform. You'll work collaboratively with other members of the Data and Analytics team and with Privacy and Governance team members to establish and maintain secure and compliant data access to the cloud database repository. You'll be a key contributor to enabling secure access and integration to the cloud data platform for connected applications such as data catalog, data integration, and data visualization tools and solutions. You'll leverage native Snowflake features along with active data catalog capabilities to create and maintain data access roles and policies. You'll perform/support activities such as data classification and tagging, to achieve and maintain data privacy and governance compliance.

What Will You Do?

  • Keep up to date with Snowflake feature releases and best practices to make recommendations to management regarding implementations
  • Primary resource for enhancing and maintaining central Snowflake Cloud Data platform
  • Design & build new database schemas in conjunction with other data team efforts
  • Drive and mentor collaborative dimensional data modeling in Snowflake
  • Review project requests to estimate time and effort required
  • Participate in periodic role-based security audit
  • Enable and support data catalog connectivity and data access policy management
  • Actively engage with Snowflake reps around feature releases and best practice
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Snowflake database errors
  • Configure Snowflake resource allocation, monitoring, and alerts
  • Provide data support and guidance for data engineers and data scientists
  • Implement data privacy and governance features such as masking policies for PII/PCI compliance
  • Monitor Snowflake utilization and credit consumption
  • Drive performance tuning efforts for Snowflake queries and data structure design
  • Contribute expert technical knowledge to advance innovative technical solutions
  • Evaluate, select, implement, and integrate technology tools to support key business unit stakeholders
  • On-call responsibilities on rotational basis for Snowflake database administration
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or equivalent relevant experience, plus at least four (4+) years of related experience
  • Three (3+) years of SQL database administration experience
  • One (1+) year of experience working with and supporting Snowflake
  • Extensive experience with ETL/ELT data integration and data loading strategies
  • Multiple years of experience working in and supporting users in SQL database environments
  • Strong SQL query development experience; experience with multiple SQL query tools
  • Self-motivated and able to work both with the team and independently from a remote location
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with members in all departments
  • Possess a superior understanding of dimensional data modeling best practices
  • Good working knowledge of MS applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Experienced with data modeling, custom objects, permissions, RBAC
  • Strong understanding of Release Management process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent personal and project organization skills

Compensation and Benefits at Cradlepoint

Your Pay:

The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

  • $74,200 - $149,500
Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. This variable pay opportunity is dependent upon the attainment of agreed to goals and objectives as determined by Cradlepoint's Senior Leadership team. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Cradlepoint provides generous paid time off, including: 15 days of Flexible Time Off (FTO), four paid quarterly well-being days, and 11 paid annual holidays (includes nine company holidays and up to two floating holidays). Please note that an employee's FTO balance and floating holidays may be prorated in the first year, based on start date. Cradlepoint also offers paid maternity-leave benefits and six weeks 100% paid family leave for all employees.
