Job Responsibilities
Pennoni Associates is currently looking for a Business Development Manager with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Contribute to company revenue growth by proactively working within select geographical markets. These geographical areas include NY City region (5 Boroughs) and any/all adjacent areas where pertinent and appropriate client and projects may be located. Select markets include transportation, manufacturing, energy, institutional and commercial developments.
  • Develop new opportunities and win new business from current and new clients in select markets. Develop annual BD Plans that target specific opportunities and projected revenues.
  • Provide continual development and maintenance of both internal (BD Team members, Project Managers, Account Managers, etc.) and external relationships (clients, vendors, consultants).
  • Identify and evaluate potential new service offerings through discussions with existing and potential clients.
  • Assist with the development of proposals and presentations for prospective projects.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback to assist Project Managers, Account Managers, and other Pennoni colleagues with information on markets and required services.
  • Work closely with the corporate Marketing and Communications staff to develop tools required for successful sales efforts.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Business Development.
Required Attributes:


  • The successful candidate’s experience will have a proven track record of developing business relationships, specifically within the New York City boroughs
  • At least 5-10 years of results-oriented experience in business development, and a demonstrated ability to win new business revenues from current and new clients.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Must be detail orientated and have strong follow-up skills.
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer. Basic ability with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word, Excel and Power Point (Proficiency is a plus). 
  • Required education: Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Engineering, Geology, Construction Management or related field.
