Description of primary duties and responsibilities::

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Division of Facilities Management's functions are to design, construct, maintain, and operate the university's physical facilities. The department's number one objective is to provide and maintain facilities that enhance and support the university's mission and academic goals. Our approach is centered on providing a superior level of customer service.

Description of Work Continued::

Primary Purpose of the Position:

This position provides daily routine and detailed cleaning of campus building interior and exterior areas (25 feet from entrance), including but not limited to offices, lounges, restrooms, classrooms, laboratories, entrances, exits, and stairways. General duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, floor care, and trash removal.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 1:00 pm-10:00 pm forty (40) hour workweek.

(Essential employee required to work during inclement Weather and campus emergencies)Must be willing to work occasional weekend and holiday events.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements::

High school diploma or equivalency.Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid driver's license. Must have an acceptable driving record, which may require up to five years of driving experience with no more than one minor fault accident or violation in the past three years. The University will review the driver's license and records periodically for compliance.

Knowledge skills and abilities::

Knowledge-Technical: Performs basic cleaning, such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, vacuuming, etc., to keep working areas clean and orderly. Fills dispensers, such as tissue and soap dispensers, with the proper product and amount.Customer Service: Recognizes potential problems in service and addresses and resolves them promptly and respectfullyCommunication: Listens to instructions and asks necessary questions to complete tasks.Safety/Health Compliance: Services and or replaces cleaning and maintenance machinery equipment and machinery.Interpersonal Skills: Develops and maintains effective working relationships with others in order to encourage and support communication and teamwork.
