Jhpiego is seeking a Budget Analyst to work as part of the Finance & Accounting Office team. This fast-paced, multi-faceted position is part of a dynamic team of financial, operational, and administrative staff that work together to in support of International Program offices in 34 countries.

The ideal candidate will perform analysis of financial reports and data. S/he will utilize knowledge of the university's financial accounting systems. This individual should have the ability to work independently to ac

departmental goals, deadlines, and desired outcomes/results.

Specific duties & responsibilities:

Financial & Operational Administration

The Budget Analyst will, in collaboration with FAO staff, analyze, evaluate,

project and monitor all financial transactions and budgets related to field office programs

  • On a monthly basis, interpret and review P&L, Balance Sheet for assigned Country Field Offices; identifying budget variances\imbalances.
  • Reconcile complex Country Office monthly expenditures and financial statements.
  • Prepare documents required to maintain balanced accounts for review by staff. Replenish Country Field Office bank account (Remote Imprest Fund)
  • Review and reconcile monthly expenditures to Corporate account, ensuring compliance with University policy.
  • Supports Annual Budget Process; Monthly and annual close process
  • Processes a variety of SAP transactions within all modules: AP, Supply Chain, Concur, HR/Payroll, Finance and Analysis
  • Review Travel Expense Reports insuring compliance with JHU Travel Policy and Procedure, as well as with US Government Rules & Regulations
  • Identify, create, and revise internal standard operating procedures (SOP) for finance and operations to streamline activities
  • Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, to assemble, manipulate, and format data and/or reports
  • Review & process vendor invoices, insuring expenses are Maintain thorough, organized and complete paper/electronic files for Jhpiego Accounts Payable vendors
  • In conjunction with Development, process and post incoming donations, ensuring proper crediting and bank deposit. On a monthly basis, reconcile financial statement to Development record.
  • Process weekly incoming receipts, recording in SAP and depositing to bank in accordance with JHU Treasury procedure.


Payroll
  • Review and generate electronic Payroll Cost Transfer requests, ensuring
  • Review and process Effort Certification, ensuring that ERS forms are reviewed and certified within required timeframe
  • Manage and process time sheets for casual/student employees


Other Duties
  • Work with management on projects and initiatives related to Finance & Accounting, and support of Global Program Implementation
  • Act as an effective team player, and works to maintain harmonious working relationships with coworkers, peers and supervisors
  • Respond proactively and efficiently in obtaining and providing essential financial information to staff who need it
  • With guidance from the Director, exhibit willingness to learn and expand finance and
  • accounting skills.
  • Attend trainings to grow skills, including SAP and QuickBooks.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite with preferred knowledge in Excel
  • Excellent Customer Service skills, including oral and written communication
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to focus on technical work and ability to work on simultaneous projects
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
