Our client, a highly reputable CPA firm, offering a comprehensive suite of professional services is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their growing team.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring managerial expertise along with extensive bookkeeping experience across multiple companies, coupled with proficiency in payroll and/or tax matters. We're seeking someone with advanced QuickBooks skills, exemplary communication professionalism across diverse stakeholders, stellar organizational prowess, acute attention to detail, and a knack for fostering strong client and team relationships.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, establish, and enhance departmental controls, systems, and practices to boost accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end reporting
  • Review financial statements for compliance with corporate laws and regulations
  • Participate in reconciliations and audits as required
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the general ledger and execute journal entries
  • Assist clients with accounting tasks and issues pertinent to their businesses
  • Establish and monitor classes in QuickBooks
  • Supervise bookkeeping staff
  • Make necessary adjusting entries as guided by managing accountant
  • Uphold financial security by adhering to internal controls
  • Record payroll and oversee payroll taxes for clients
  • Process sales tax reports and payments for clients

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • College-level accounting courses, a 2-year degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in computerized software and Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Advanced mastery of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing varied client projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team-player mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities
  • Professional demeanor, reliability, accuracy, fast-learning ability, acute attention to detail, and self-motivation
  • Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed
  • Ability to handle pressure associated with deadlines and workload
  • Previous experience in public accounting is preferred
