This role is based out of our manufacturing facility located in Bellwood, IL and will be in-person role.

As the Sanitation supervisor you are responsible for monitoring and ensuring proper sanitation throughout the facility as well as recommending improvements in manufacturing methods and sanitation practices to management.

Ways you will make a difference

  • Plans, manages and directs plant sanitation procedures, programs and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production.
  • Adhering to high sanitation, GMP, and safety standards. Develops operating policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Creates Master Sanitation Schedules for plant and warehouse facilities, interior/exterior.
  • Ensures superior sanitation of production plant, equipment and surrounding areas at all times.
  • Mentors and motivates associates, providing training and development top optimize their performance and personal growth.
  • Participates in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements.
  • Facilities problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issues.

  • Follows up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested work.
  • Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Ferrara Pan Candy Company business objectives.
  • Back-up to sanitation supervisor in his/her absence: lead sanitation operator.
  • Review and analyze ATP, Micro results and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage the Inventory and purchasing of all sanitation, production and safety supplies.
  • Manage and drive the sustainability program and scrap reduction.
  • Create SSOP's for the equipment and plant structures as needed.
  • Conduct internal food safety and work safety audit as a part of the food safety team and safety committee.
  • Train Sanitation and production employees on proper sanitation and sanitizing.
  • Ensure cleaning tasks are competed adequately and on time.

Skills that will make you successful

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in the food-industry preferred.
  • Bachelor in science preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (based on company needs)
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCP, food safety and GMP principles.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize prioritize, and achieve effective time management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield). Computer proficiency in electronic communication (e-mail, spreadsheet software, databases, etc.)
