Behavior Technician - (DSP/CNA/Care Giver/Mentor/Home Health Aide/Personal Care Attendant)

Benchmark Human Services is hiring immediately ! Benchmark is a national leader in providing programs to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The Elizabethtown, Indiana ESN Group Homes have immediate openings for compassionate and caring people to work as Direct Support Professionals. Successful applicants will attend paid orientation and training. Various shifts available!

From April 1st 2021 to September 1st 2021 all Indiana dsp positions are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $1,500.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide training, assistance and support the individuals served
  • Implement plans and training throughout crisis situations
  • Assist individuals served in expanding their opportunities to participate in community life
  • Function as part of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide positive behavioral supports according to individual Behavior Support Plan
  • Respond to emergency situations, Implement Technical Mandt
  • Ensure a positive, engaged and therapeutic environment.
  • Prepare and enter daily behavior data.
  • Provided continuous active treatment and reinforcement schedules.
  • Engage individuals in home activities continuously.
  • Assist the individuals in planning and participating in community activities
  • Provide transportation for daily activities utilizing personal vehicle as directed.
  • Implement formal and informal opportunities for skill development for independence
  • Model appropriate behavior and interactions with individuals
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • Implement health care protocols and administer medications.
  • Follow prescribed diets and food management policies and prepare meals according to the menu.
  • Attend all scheduled training and staff meetings.
  • Assist with personal care
  • Assist the individuals in attending all scheduled appointments.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.

G ENERAL QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Must be willing to flex schedule according to the needs of the individuals served.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to remain calm under stress
  • Ability to implement plans and training while dealing with physical aggression/elopement and other behaviors.
  • Pass all training that requires competency testing.
  • Must have high school diploma or GED. Some college is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities with behavioral needs
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
