The 10th, Vail's critically acclaimed on-mountain fine-dining restaurant is looking for a BARTENDER & LOUNGE SERVER to join our outstanding restaurant staff. The 10th serves an upscale sit-down lunch daily, complete with a boot room for guests to enjoy slippers while they dine! Located at the top of Gondola One at Mid-Vail, The 10th is accessed either by ski-in and ski-out during the day or viaVail's brand new high tech Gondola One. Modern. Alpine. Inspired. The 10th redefines classic alpine cuisine and elevates service to new standards in Vail.
The bartender & lounge server provides friendly and courteous service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and food to guests and servers, and can work a schedule of bartending shifts and upscale dining shifts in our fast paced lounge area.

*Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:*

* Ensures smooth, efficient and sanitary bar operations, as well as cash handling and providing change for the servers.
* Must be knowledgeable in the preparation of various alcoholic beverages including mixed drinks, wine, and beer.
* Must be knowledgeable in the preparation of all food and alcohol menu items.
* Must maintain stock levels throughout the day.
* Learns the names and personally recognizes regulars and members.
* Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
* Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
* Bartenders and Servers are responsible for the service and enjoyment of the guestsand/or members
* Genuinely welcome and greet guests in a timely manner.
* Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you're there to personally take care of them.
* Duties include but are not limited to stocking, polishing silver, glass and dishware; setting, bussing and clearing tables; trash and recycling removal; expediting food; serving food and drinks; waiting tables; bussing; and any other duties assigned
* Must haveexplicit knowledge of all preparations of menu items.
* Make recommendationsto your guests to enhance their dining experience.
* Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
* Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
* Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
* Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
* Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
* Maintain clean service areas.
* Monitor and observe guests' dining experiences. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
* Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change.
* Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
* Be ready and willing to aid bussers or server assistants with clearing and resetting tables.
* Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
* Must demonstrate a willingness to increase menu and wine knowledge, hold peers to this standard, and expand fine dining skillsets to elevate guest service on a daily basis.
* Be available to fill in as needed as a server to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.


*Qualifications:*

* High School diploma or equivalent- required.
* At least 2 years previous bartending experience in a fast paced high end restaurant- required.
* At least 2 years of high volume high end table service experience - required.
* Previous fine dining table service and/or bartending - 6 months to 1 year - preferred.
* Must have or obtain valid TIPS certification upon employment (will provide training)- required.
* Must be 18 years of age or older- required.
* Must be able to lift and carry 40+ lbs- required.
* Must be able to work weekends and holidays- required.
* Must be fluent in English- required.

* Must be available to work holidays including: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, December 26th through January 2nd, Presidents' Day Weekend, and any other holidays as requested -required.
* ServSafe or Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain) - required.

The budgeted range starts at $9.18. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
