Backup & Restore Infrastructure Architect (ITSCM)
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Backup Plan supporting traditional IT backup architectures.
Analyze critical functions and define the scope and impact of disaster scenarios.
Analyze existing systems and recommend diverse, fault-tolerant solutions to ensure COOP and the replication of critical data.
Design, document, and implement Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) services for the entire USSOUTHCOM enterprise, including JTF-BRAVO, JTF-GTMO, JIATF-SOUTH and all Security Cooperation Offices including emergency, contingency, and/or recovery operations. Integrate COOP and DR plans with traditional IT backup architectures in Backup Plan.
Accomplish failover testing to internal backup systems and to external replication sites; prepare and maintain COOP and Disaster Recovery (DR) operations artifacts (e.g., documentation, test results, plans, Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI), and Contributing Factors)
Required Certifications:
- 8570 Compliance (IAT II): https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/
Desired Certifications/Experience:
- SNIA Certified Storage Architect (SCSA) OR equivalent vendor certification
- Experience coordinating the design, development, maintenance, exercise (i.e., testing) and documentation of enterprise COOP and DR plan
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or commensurate level of experience based on position level (Associate, Journeyman, Senior, etc….)
Clearance required: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Shift Work: Not expected.
Travel: Less than 10%
Education/Experience Levels:
BA/BS with 8 or more years of experience in IT-related positions, at least 2 years of COOP/DR planning experience. * Additional experience can be substituted for formal education (e.g. 2 years' experience = 1-year formal education)
