Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

  • Responsible for the day to day support, preventive maintenance, programming, calibration and development of automation equipment for field locations to include well sites, SWD's, compressor stations and tank batteries.
  • Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of facility and wellsite communication equipment and instruments, including working with PLC's
  • Apply expertise for installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs of instrument, communication, and electrical equipment
  • Execute planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submits appropriate reports
  • PLC installation, troubleshooting, and programming
  • Lead automation failure analysis and recommendations going forward.
  • Utilize all company safe work practices when performing automation work.
  • Frequent communication with the operation team, SCADA/IT group, measurement and engineering .


Skills / Qualifications

  • 3+ years of automation experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred
  • Preferred:
  • Associate degree or Trade Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics Technology
  • 5+ years' experience in the automation field
  • Experience with communication equipment (Cell Modems, Radios, Network Switches, etc...)
  • PLC programming experience
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, ABB, SCADAPack, Redlion, ROC (i.e., PLC's, HMI's, drives, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings (i.e., P&ID's, C&E's)
  • Able to lift more than 50 lbs. and climb ladders and stairways.
