This Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Associate Principal Scientist t help drive the in vitro bioscience efforts within the early oncology unit. The role will be accountable for bioscience project support, scientific strategy, and advancing technology development, and will work closely with the combinations team, in vitro screening and automation team, PDX team as well as project teams focused on discovery and development of specific assets.

  • Provide hands-on and strategic leadership to in vitro capabilities within bioscience
  • Work with internal project team members to prioritize, design, and interpret in vitro combination screens
  • Work alongside in vivo and PDX teams to support development of in vitro novel models (e.g. organoid and ex vivo platforms)
  • Represent bioscience in cross-functional project teams, and in governance interactions - e.g. Independently develop and deliver on biological strategy for a program.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to enable advanced capabilities within the combinations/screening teams

Requirements
  • PhD with 5+ years of research experience with drug discovery and development, Associate Director will have strong people and project leadership experience
  • Experience with in vitro biology, including assay development and compound screening. (Organoid model development and high throughput experience desirable)
  • Proven leadership skills and a passion for mentorship
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to design and conduct key experiments to support program progression
  • Consistent track record of working across boundaries to deliver common goals.
  • Ability to lead from the bench in problem solving and the development of innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A proven track record of high efficiency and scientific publications in peer reviewed journals.

Our Waltham, Massachusetts facility develops life changing small-molecule research in North America, with innovative laboratories at the Gatehouse Park BioHub, just west of the city center.
