Job Description Summary

The Associate HR Generalist provides support and general assistance in all areas of human resources. Partners with management to meet human resource needs of the plant. Works closely with plant HR team to provide knowledge and expertise to customers.

Job Description

  • Hourly staffing to include recruiting, selection, new hire orientation and associated paperwork/systems updates.
  • Oversee employee benefits open enrollment and wellness program participation.
  • General HR support for employees - answer routine questions, resolve conflicts, conduct and document investigations, provide communication, etc.
  • Responsible for assisting in employee investigation matters.
  • Manages the processing of new job requisitions and hiring activities for all Hourly personnel
  • Maintains AAP including overseeing the disposition of candidates on all requisitions, establish hiring goals and assist in communication of hiring goals to appropriate hiring managers
  • Tracks personnel activities like transfers, promotions and terminations.
  • Processes all FMLA, OFLA, STD absences and communicate proper processes to employees.
  • Understand and maintain professionalism in all business dealings with all team members, as well as customers and vendors.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and practices, as well as enforce them with all team members.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Business or related field required or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a union environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written - Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to interact professionally and positively with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday during office hours but be able to shift to various hours to meet the needs of a 24/7 business with off-shifts
  • Workday, Kronos, payroll and WorkLoud scheduling software experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment laws and regulations (e.g. FMLA, FLSA, Affirmative Action, ADAAA)
  • Knowledge and understanding of FMLA, WC and STD claims administration
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups and respond to questions from managers, supervisors and employees
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and see them to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience with interviewing and employment practices
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience with writing reports, business correspondence and policies/procedures
