Job Description

Position Overview:

As an Associate, Finance and Capital Markets, Offshore Wind, you will support and manage all aspects of project finance transactions necessary to support the development and execution of Invenergy's growing offshore wind pipeline. Key responsibilities include creating and managing complex financial models during the lease auction and offtake bid process, managing the due diligence process, and coordination with external financing parties to support closing and funding of the transactions. You will work closely with other teams within Invenergy, including Development, Origination, Engineering, Project Management, Legal, and Asset Management, as well as external legal counsel and consultants. The preferred location for this position is at our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois with our New York City office being a secondary option.

Responsibilities

  • Support portfolio management of existing investments through the budgeting process. Liaise with other team members, and coordinate cash calls to investors.
  • Develop and manage financial models to analyze the economic merits and risks associated with offshore wind, projects. Synthesize and communicate project economic summaries to senior management.
  • Evaluate and model tax equity, debt and cash equity financing alternatives.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, developers, originators, accounting professionals, and other adjacent teams to develop and refine appropriate finance assumptions to ensure current market trends are considered.
  • Manage due diligence and closing process for financing transactions including coordination with internal teams and external financial partners.
  • Interpret and review terms in credit agreements, purchase and sale agreements, tax equity agreements, operating agreements, and other ancillary financing documents to assist with project structuring and deal negotiations.
  • Provide analytical and risk management insights during power purchase agreement pricing exercises & negotiations and assist preparing associated investment committee materials and presentations.
  • Support and manage project finance transactions, including construction debt, term debt, tax equity, and cash equity investments.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in finance, banking, consulting, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of offshore wind experience in development or finance.
  • Deep understanding of offshore auction strategies,
  • Project finance, corporate finance, or M&A transaction experience, preferably in the renewables or energy sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex financing models in Excel.
  • Familiarity with project or corporate finance transactions and documentation.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize a number of concurrent tasks in a fast paced environment.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $132,000
