The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Rhode Island invites applications from dynamic leaders interested in joining a collaborative leadership team focused on strategically and effectively facilitating the growth and innovation of the college. With a new president, URI is embarking on a new university plan focused on championing equity and inclusion, growing programs and research, reaching new student populations, coordinating workforce development, and facilitating student success. The College of Arts and Sciences seeks an experienced leader with creative, innovative thinking to help the college navigate the changing landscape of higher education and sustain the liberal arts as a valuable educational and career pathway. This associate dean position is well suited for candidates who will embrace the internal and external professional development opportunities offered to help grow their skills and prepare for further career advancements.

As the largest college at the University of Rhode Island, the College of Arts and Sciences brings together and supports undergraduate and graduate programs across the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. The Dean's administrative team includes two assistant deans; two associate deans; a research coordinator; a student affairs coordinator; a business manager; two business analysts; two administrative assistants. The College of Arts & Sciences, which includes the Harrington School of Communication and Media, is made up of ~3,500 students; 300 full time faculty; 100+ part-time faculty; 24 departments with 43 undergraduate programs and 15 graduate programs; and 4 centers; with an annual operating budget of $47 million.
