CUMULUS MEDIA has an immediate opening for a full time Associate, Corporate Development. This person will report to the Senior Director, Corporate Development, and will be integral in supporting the Company's strategic initiatives, including M&A, strategic partnerships, capital markets and financing activities, Board relations and investor relations. We seek highly motivated, mature individuals with refined analytical capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and a high level of integrity. A successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity for significant C-level visibility internally as well as substantial engagement with external counterparties in a dynamic, high-performance, results-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing sophisticated financial models and providing analytical support for mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, valuations and strategic partnerships (including key contract negotiations)
  • Supporting the team in the identification of new M&A transactions or commercial business development opportunities
  • Developing presentations to support analysis and transaction decision-making process
  • Conducting buy-side and sell-side due diligence processes, including performing company, industry and competitor research and due diligence
  • Assisting with the execution of transactions, including developing / negotiating definitive documentation and managing closing requirements
  • Interacting and negotiating with counterparties and third-party advisors
  • Collaborating across functional areas to facilitate pre- and post-merger integration
  • Contributing to investor relations strategy through peer analysis, presentation development and interaction with sell-side analysts, buy-side analysts and portfolio managers

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years of experience in investment banking and/or corporate development with a significant number of completed transactions
  • Traditional and/or digital media industry and transaction experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, prioritize tasks, work on multiple projects and manage rapidly changing assignments
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to build and audit financial models
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Superb attention to detail, desire to take ownership of work product and be held accountable for results of proposed strategic actions
  • Expert user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to work remotely but travel for internal/external requirements as directed
