ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT AND DEAN, COLLEGE OF INTERDISCIPLINARY AND CONTINUING STUDIES

Morgan State University invites nominations and applications to fill the position of Assistant Vice President and Dean, College of Interdisciplinary and Continuing Studies.

Morgan State seeks a visionary leader with demonstrated success, innovation, and intellectual breadth to bring an entrepreneurial and strategic unit to serve the mainly adult learners and degree completers. The successful candidate will be the chief executive of the College of Interdisciplinary and Continuing Studies, reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and will work closely with all the other academic deans. Responsibilities include oversight of implementation of the recently approved 18 interdisciplinary programs as part of Morgan Completes You (MCY) initiative. The MCY initiative aims at serving students that have accumulated significant academic credits in the past but have not completed their degree programs to achieve their goals. This role is responsible for supporting all administrative and academic requirements of these programs including development/implementation of strategic plans, recruit and train a group of professionals in the College, allocation of resources (budgets, staff, equipment), operational success and the evaluation of results that support MSU's goals and mission.

The successful candidate must have a proven record of transformational leadership. This individual also must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in creative problem-solving, decision-making and have worked collaboratively with diverse constituency groups. Evidence of successful, progressive, and entrepreneurial leadership; and successful experience in strategic planning and fundraising. Evidence of strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation/collaboration skills (with specific focus on interdisciplinary educational programs) are highly desired. An earned terminal degree from an accredited institution is highly desired but not required.
