Stetson University's School of Business Administration seeks applicants and nominations for a full-time, 9-month faculty appointment in accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice (non-tenure track).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple constituencies of diverse backgrounds. They must be committed to teaching excellence, engaging with students in a variety of ways, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging with the community and the profession. Evidence of academic preparation and professional activity sufficient to be qualified as Scholarly Academic, Practice Academic, or Scholarly Practitioner under the AACSB guidelines is expected. Prior professional experience in accounting is expected and CPA licensure and/or other relevant certifications are strongly preferred.

For this non-tenure-track position, candidates should have a graduate degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited institution and must demonstrate potential for effective and engaging teaching activity at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the area of financial accounting/reporting, although other areas of specializations (e.g., accounting information systems, data analytics) will be considered. Prior college-level teaching is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The standard teaching load for an Assistant Professor of Practice is four (4) courses per semester. Teaching responsibilities will depend on the candidate's disciplinary expertise and may include offerings for the University's requirements in General Education. Additional responsibilities include: undergraduate advising; student recruitment; engaging with university, school, and departmental committees and meetings; and building partnerships with both Florida-based and national practitioners and potential employers.

THE COMMUNITY:

DeLand is a picturesque residential community of 32,000 located 20 miles west of Daytona Beach and 35 miles northeast of Orlando. The area offers extensive cultural as well as recreational activities.

SALARY: Salary is competitive.

STARTING DATE: August 15, 2022, or as negotiated.
