Description
One full-time tenure-track faculty position, at an Assistant Professor level is available to begin Fall 2022 in a CCNE accredited School of Nursing (SON). SDSU SON offers the following programs: generic baccalaureate, RN to BSN and Master's degree. We are seeking applicants with academic and practice expertise within the General Nursing field.

Qualified applicants must hold an earned doctorate [PhD or DNP] in nursing or in a related field with a Master's degree in Nursing and be eligible for or currently licensed to practice nursing in California. The successful candidate will possess strong research interest and capability as evidenced by an appropriate history of, or potential for research and publication in top-tier refereed journals and clinical practice. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels is preferred. The position requires teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels and faculty role responsibilities. The position is a joint appointment to San Diego State University Imperial Valley and the School of Nursing on the San Diego campus. The primary appointment is to the nursing programs at SDSU Imperial Valley (Calexico/Brawley). SDSU Imperial Valley is located in Calexico, within seven blocks of the United States-Mexico border across from Mexicali, Baja California, and 120 miles east of San Diego, California. SDSU IV also schedules classes in its campus located in Brawley, California.

The SON has dynamic educational programs, uses creative and innovative teaching methods and offers research opportunities and support in acquiring funding. The School of Nursing offers graduate concentrations in Advanced Practice Nursing of Adults and Elderly (NP/CNS) and Nursing Leadership in Health Care Systems.
