Position Summary:
The Department of Curriculum & Instruction (C&I), College of Education, University of Idaho (UI) seeks passionate and well-qualified applicants for a full-time (9-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Education, beginning August 15, 2022. The successful candidate will be based at the UI Moscow campus, will teach mathematics content and methods, advise undergraduate and graduate students, establish and build a record of scholarly research, pursue external funding; and will participate in service, outreach and leadership activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate by August 2022 in Mathematics Education or Education with emphasis in mathematics education.
- Evidence of, or potential for, scholarly activity related to mathematics education.
- At least three years of contracted K-12 teaching experience including mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience teaching and advising students preparing to teach mathematics in a P-12 setting.
- Design and deliver curriculum and instruction informed by cultural proficiency and inclusive pedagogies.
- Qualified to teach graduate research methodology courses.
- Qualified to teach mathematics education courses and mathematics content courses.
- Experience facilitating learning opportunities for teachers of mathematics
- Experience teaching diverse students.
- Experience working with diverse communities, including building partnerships with historically underserved populations.
- Demonstrated scholarship in mathematics education.
- Experience with external funding processes.
- Experience teaching via distance learning technologies.
- Experience with technology and its role in education at all levels.
Experience with internal and external collaborative partnerships.
