The Department of Physiology in the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University (AU) is seeking faculty with outstanding teaching credentials of all academic ranks to fill a position as a medical educator. The successful candidate will advance the educational mission and initiatives of the department's graduate and medical teaching initiatives. Primary responsibilities include participation in the development, institutional approval, and delivery of a new Masters in Medical Physiology Program (a didactic, post-baccalaureate program); candidates will also have teaching responsibilities in the MCG MD Program. Medical educator faculty contribute to content delivery, educational research, and faculty development at MCG. Previous effective teaching experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively are key skills for this position. Ideally, the candidate will have an interdisciplinary educational focus and the capability to contribute directly to multiple components of graduate and medical curriculum delivery.
Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
Educational experience in medical education or other health sciences-related educational programs
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate medical education (UME)
Instruction in human physiology or a closely related field
Educational research
Faculty development
Educational program and curriculum design
Assessment & education
Use of educational technology
LCME Self-Study and accreditation process
Shift/Salary
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
