Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted. Grade EG. Salary commensurate with experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred experience in non-profit fundraising or higher education. Experience in sales, cold calling, event planning and volunteer or board management is preferred.

Position Description

The Assistant Director of Individual Giving & Alumni Initiatives will assist in the planning and execution of a comprehensive philanthropic program with a focus on leadership annual gifts and alumni initiatives for the Brandeis School of Law. This position will report to the Senior Director of Development and work collaboratively with the Dean of Brandeis School of Law. In addition, this position will work collaboratively with colleagues across University Advancement to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gift prospects for the School of Law. This position will work collaboratively with the Office of Alumni Relations, the Director of Annual Giving, and the School of Law communications team to coordinate events and external communication with alumni and donors. All job functions must be performed with a high degree of professionalism, including responsibility, initiative, creativity, dependability, human relations, cooperation, courtesy, and in compliance with Affirmative Action. A high level of personal and professional integrity is a must, along with the ability to communicate effectively and frequently with colleagues.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual goals as defined each year in a personal assessment scorecard that will include personally scheduled visits, events and activity engagements, and individual solicitations.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 100-150 gift donors.
  • Solicit and secure gifts with a minimum annual goal of $250,000 or more determined by supervisor
  • Execute solicitations at $2,500 and above.
  • Coordinate events related to alumni initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Alumni Relations as determined by the academic leadership of the Brandeis School of Law.
  • Recruit and manage the membership of the Brandeis School of Law Alumni Council.
  • Work with the Law School communications team, and advancement communications team to provide targeted messaging to the Law School alumni and friends.
  • Record moves management activity within the Advancement database platform.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues through donor identification and donor referral.

Some evening and weekend work required.
