Applications are being accepted for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Admission/Chicago Regional Representative. This position represents the College in providing admission counseling and the sharing of College information to prospective students and parents. This position meets their annual student enrollment target in assigned territories; represents the College as the primary contact in assigned countries or states at college fairs, events, school visits, and other venues as appropriate; conducts student interviews on and off-campus, visits high schools, makes group presentations about the college; analyzes, reviews, and makes recommendations on student admission and scholarship applications; organizes and coordinates alumni support teams in assigned market areas; participates in the planning and execution of on and off-campus events.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, preferably from a private liberal arts college. One to three years of experience in a professional position in which the candidate was required to represent an organization to external customers.

Preferred Skills

One to three years of experience working for an educational institution recruiting students is preferred. Ability to enthusiastically promote the value of a Cornell College liberal arts education to students, their families, and persons and organizations of influence. Communication, organizational, computer skills, and knowledge of private higher education. Ability to communicate effectively, interact professionally, maintain confidentiality in a variety of situations (in person and on the telephone). Must have valid Driver's License and be insurable to drive to and from high schools and college programs. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently. Outgoing personality who thrives in working with others. Ability to work under pressure, to prioritize work, and to meet deadlines.
