As educators and scholar-practitioners, we create purposeful learning and leadership opportunities for students to clarify and develop their knowledge, values, skills, and identities - challenging each to become a world changer.About the Position:Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the Assistant Director for Integrated Marketing strengthens the visibility and reputation of the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) by creating and carrying out a dynamic communication plan informed by DSA core messaging, university brand guidelines, and divisional and institutional strategic initiatives. Serving as the lead marketing and communications professional in the division, this position engages audiences via various mediums including print, video, email, social media, and web. Provides consultation to DSA departments (and their marketing liaisons) and units as well as curated resources and assets in order to support a unified approach to the campus' brand guidelines within the division. This role is a hybrid communications and design role. Convenes a community of divisional marketing professionals to meet, discuss, and carry out plans to coordinate messaging across the DSA.Essential Functions:

    At the direction of the functional leader, implements and contributes to a shared, multi-faceted division-wide marketing and communication plan for both external and internal audiences. Ensures that the plan aligns with the mission/vision and strategic planning efforts of SA Admin and the Division at large; includes design, implementation, and adherence to DSA Brand identity.Creates a suite of signature reporting/communication initiatives— includes responsibility for design, content cultivation and/or original creation (copywriting, illustrations, etc.), production, and distribution. This suite of materials includes, but is not limited to the following: annual Impact publication, quarterly newsletter, Newsstand Snapshot email, etc.Oversees social media content and general web strategy for the Division of Student Affairs. Utilizes and communicates data analytics for current platforms and regularly reviews trends and best practices in the field to develop and drive strategies for enhanced outreach and engagement.Convenes a cross-divisional communication team for the purpose of designing and align messaging and promotions for select initiatives and marquee events.Hires, trains, and supervises a team of undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of marketing, design, social media, photography, video, digital, and web content that support the implementation of the Student Affairs marketing and communication plan.Develops and delivers resources and training with respect to marketing and communication on a consistent, ongoing basis for all units within the division at both the division- and sub-unit (e.g., areas, departments, offices) levels.Collects, prioritizes/delegates, and fulfills select design requests and needs across the division on an ongoing basis via a comprehensive request process. Requests range from large-scale, signature initiatives at the divisional level to smaller, program- or event-level projects. Provides strategy-related consultation and suggestions in tandem with these requests when possible.Serves as liaison between division/divisional units and institutional marketing and communication units, including DEA, OIT when necessary. Serves as content and strategy expert for specific divisional and institutional committees/task forces or initiatives as needed (e.g., divisional website initiative, survey taskforces, Awards committee, etc.)Supports the implementation of the divisional strategic plan and completes other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Design, or a related field is required for this position.A minimum of 2 years of work experience in the public relations industry or in marketing communications is required. Experience within an educational organization is desired.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must have the ability to conceptualize, write and edit strategic, accurate and concise content for various audiences.  Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, conduct multiple tasks and maintain effective working relationships.Candidate must have the ability to coordinate large projects with numerous components over extended periods of time and the ability to visually inspect print and online copy when self-editing or editing the copy of others including experienceCandidate must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.   Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.Candidate must possess excellent organizational skills which include effective planning and project management.  Must be focused on deadlines and attentive to details.Candidate must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills.Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.Software experience with Adobe Create Software Suite is required; Asana Project Management experience is preferred.Physical and Environmental Demands:This position must be able to:
    Handle objects (dexterity) Carry/lift 25lbs.Sit for long periods of time.
