Syracuse University's School of Information Studies (the iSchool, ischool.syr.edu) seeks candidates for a tenure track or tenured faculty position to start in Fall 2022: Assistant/Associate/Professor of Library and Information Science with an emphasis in critical design. The position is part of an 'Invest Syracuse' cluster hire in 'Social Differences, Social Justice'. This initiative aims to position Syracuse University at the center of national and global discussions of social differences by publicly committing to the pursuit of just futures. Scholars whose work attends to racial, ethnic, Indigenous, LGBT and/or gender identities, as well as understandings of culture, ability and disability, are welcome. The iSchool especially seeks an Assistant/Associate/Professor whose teaching and scholarship engages critical design methodology or critical analysis of design-broadly defined, and whose work intersects with issues of equality and justice as it pertains to universal design, especially in the context of historically marginalized communities. We seek candidates who can amplify the iSchool's tradition of teaching excellence in topics around digital data, information/knowledge representation, library leadership, and special collections.

Successful candidates will possess a completed Ph.D. and oversee a productive program of research in an information-related field. Women and members of groups traditionally underrepresented among scholars in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.
