The Assistant/Associate/Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Dental College of Georgia (DCG) at Augusta University reports directly to the Chair of the Department of OMFS. Teaching responsibilities include presentation of didactic and clinical education to postgraduate residents, pre-doctoral students, and peers in multiple venues as it pertains to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The ideal candidate should have fellowship training and be prepared to develop subspecialty practice in Head and Neck Oncology/Microvascular Surgery, Minimally Invasive OMF Surgery/Temporomandibular Joint Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, or Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery. This is a full-time academic, non-tenure track, faculty position.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Develop a subspecialty practice in the candidate's respective niche.
Head the Division of Head and Neck Oncology/Microvascular Surgery, if applicable.
Evaluate Oral and Maxillofacial residents' and pre-doctoral clinical patient educational encounters.
Maintain licenses and hospital credentials for Augusta University Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Georgia, Georgia Correctional Healthcare, and Charlie Norwood Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
DDS/DMD degree from an ADA-accredited dental school
Graduate of a CODA-accredited OMFS residency program
American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) eligible
United States dental license or eligibility for licensure by the Georgia Board of Dentistry
Demonstrates ability for effective leadership and vision of OMFS department
Interest/passion in working closely with faculty, residents, students, and staff to promote engagement, leadership, and professional development through collaborative interactions interdepartmentally, university-wide, and with local, regional, and national organizations
Preferred Qualifications
MD or other additional advanced degrees or fellowships
Strong interest In research and scholarship in the specialty of OMFS

The Assistant/Associate Professor in OMFS should be a strategic thinker, a visionary leader who thrives in a challenging environment and is clearly aligned with Augusta University values. A proven track record as a problem solver and the ability to implement innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. Shift/Salary
Academic rank, tenure status and salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
