Job Summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a highly motivated and hardworking individual who is ready to bring their #energy to support our Beloit Operations in Beloit, WI.

In this position the Area Stores Equipment Operator will drive semi-tractors and trailers to move stores material, merchandise, equipment and supplies from one location to another.

The person in this role will performs physical and record keeping duties related to this function.

What you will do

• Operates equipment used for loading and unloading of materials.
• Receives, stores, issues materials and supplies as required.
• Maintains the storage yard/docks in an orderly manner.
• Conducts inventories as required and records variances.
• Performs related routine clerical work, making appropriate entries associated with the movement of materials, assisting with inventories as required.
• Performs all work according to established company procedures.
• Assists with training of other stores staff in operation of yard equipment.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

• Experience in operating yard equipment; mechanical aptitude

Other Requirements

• This position is covered by the Department of Transportation regulations on drug/alcohol testing (CFR 49, Parts 40 and 382), and is subject to drug/alcohol testing according to said regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiar with the use of hooks, slings and rigging used in the handling of bulky materials or units
• Good sense of proportions and weights
• Good perception and coordination
• Good safety record
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License prior to the end of trial period.
