SUMMARY

The Aircraft On Ground (AOG) Purchasing Analyst reports to the AOG Supervisor and is responsible for the cost-effective, timely, and efficient procurement and shipping of aircraft spares to meet the requirements of the Aircraft Maintenance Organization in order to minimize unscheduled ground time due to materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Aircraft on Ground (AOG) Purchasing Analyst is part of the Materials Department and AOG Group reporting to the AOG Supervisor and is responsible for the fulfillment of AOG requirements, including purchase order entry, part sourcing, timely shipping, and delivery of parts, records and documentation.
  • Monitoring backlog of AOG orders, interfacing with Maintenance Control, Materials, and other departments as necessary.
  • Supports the development of internal and external relationships relative to the AOG activities. Focuses on building supply chain efficiencies with the goal of preventing AOG events as directed or delegated by the AOG Supervisor, Purchasing Manager, and/or Director of Eng. Planning & Materials.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Has established skills to perform a range of day-to-day and routine activities; acquires advanced job skills needed for more difficult and varied assignments; good understanding of the technical aspects of the job. Understands how own duties relate to others in the team and have an awareness of how the team integrates with others.
  • Procures and ensures delivery of material to meet AOG requirements in order to avoid the negative operational and fiscal impact from delays or cancellations resulting from parts.
  • Ensures that all materials procured meet Amerijet International Airlines and FAA standards for quality.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance control to ensure timely response to MEL requirements.
  • Is always working with purchasing and seeking out and evaluating new sources of supply vendors to achieve improved delivery and cost reduction goals without jeopardizing quality or safety.
  • Procures and processes material requisitions following Amerijet International Airlines purchasing procedures.
  • Alerts management to any irregularities of material requisitions and vendor improprieties.
  • Provides all required departments with the current status of open requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Coordinates and communicates with Materials/Receiving Department on receipt of purchase orders; resolves any discrepancies with vendors on quantity, pricing, or documentation.
  • Performs any other duties as required or directed by the AOG Supervisor, Purchasing Manager, or Director of Eng. Planning & Materials.
  • All duties/assignments assigned by the AOG Supervisor or the Director of Eng. Planning & Materials.
  • The AOG Controller is required to accomplish accurate computerized transactions, with regard to the issue of stock, return of cores, credit backs, unit adjustments, and warehouse transfers, etc;
  • Procures and ensures delivery of material to meet AOG requirements in order to avoid the negative operational and fiscal impact from delays or cancellations resulting from parts.

  • The AOG Purchasing Analyst is required to accomplish accurate computerized transactions, with regard to the issue of stock, return of cores, credit backs, unit adjustments, and warehouse transfers, etc;
  • Good knowledge of company policies and procedures. Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established options; refers significant deviations from guidelines to supervisor for authorization.
  • Manages own workload by applying an understanding of team priorities; may provide assistance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and with within a team environment. Impacts own team through the quality of the services or information provided; follows standardized procedures and practices and receives regular but moderate supervision and guidance.

  • Uses foundational (excellent written and verbal communication skills) communication skills to exchange straightforward information. Fulfills role of AOG advocate to internal departments.

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain an Airport SIDA (Secure Identification Display Area) Badge.
  • Must have Hazmat Awareness training and knowledge. (Company Provided). Must be familiar and able to recognize hazmat shipping requirements and contact and make the necessary arrangements with hazmat agents for such shipments.
  • A & P License, Aviation related degrees a plus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos and the ability to write correspondence and emails, prioritize, and type at least 45-50 WPM.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high stressed, high-demand environment.
  • Strong Negotiation skills.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have at least two (2) years of aviation purchasing experience.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Physical Demands: Some lifting (up to 30 lbs.).Occasional requirement to stand or sit whilst completing all listed tasks. Often requires movements of the neck in all directions. Intermittent reaching above shoulder height required to access storage areas and pigeon holes, stooping and bending from a standing position when lifting file boxes or collecting documents.
