Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for designing and executing in vivo studies in the fields of infectious diseases and vaccines. The job will involve work including:

  • Designing & implementing animal models of pathogenic infection models in mice and vaccine immunigenicity studies in various animal species.
  • Hands-on execution of in vivo studies involving infection, monitoring viremia, monitoring immune response and tissue collection.
  • Proficiency in preparation and dosing of agents via multiple routes of administration (including IM, PO, IP, SC, IN, and IV).
  • Evaluation and implementation of novel in vivo techniques and technologies.
  • Detailed record keeping of all experimental information in electronic lab notebooks.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Prior experience with designing & implementing animal models of viral infection and/or vaccination
  • Proven ability to perform in vivo experiments with minimal supervision (including dosing, blood/tissue collection, animal handling, animal welfare monitoring etc.)
  • Ability to maintain thorough electronic records.
  • Ability to generate, maintain, analyze, graph, interpret, and present data.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge regarding murine models of microbiome manipulation
  • Ability to concurrently carry out multiple in vivo studies
  • Familiarity and prior experience with humanized murine models
  • Proficiency in Graphpad PRISM, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
Position Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years in vivo experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3years of in vivo experience
  • Master's degree with 0+ years of in vivo experience
