Job Description

The Analytical Chemist will perform the functions of sample analysis of a wide variety of materials via ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and IC testing.

  • Analyzes samples using internal laboratory or compendial methodologies
  • Conduct laboratory analysis utilizing ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and IC technologies
  • Accurately perform and interpret test results, notifying Lead Chemist or Technical Director of deviations
  • Report concerns of equipment failures and non-compliance of supplies and reagents
  • Perform quality control procedures to support compliance w/ ISO 17025 and other applicable guidelines
  • Participate in internal audits of processes as directed
  • Enhance working knowledge of processes, procedures, or techniques available to support current and future business opportunities
  • Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Conduct activities in an efficient matter, with prioritization of duties, to assure testing deadlines are met
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents
  • Ability to apply principles of scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs)
  • Exhibits excellent laboratory skills in the use of balances, pipettes, and volumetric ware
  • Safely handle concentrated acids including nitric, hydrochloric, and hydrofluoric acids
  • Maintain laboratory records following cGMP documentation practices
  • Follows all safety protocols appropriate for the laboratory environment
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while performing in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or related science from an accredited university
Preferred
  • 2+ years of analytical laboratory experience
  • ICP-MS experience in a cGMP facility using Perkin Elmer or Agilent instrumentation
