The Analyst is responsible for financial analysis, underwriting, evaluation and market research to support for the BFR/SFR team. The Analyst works closely with the team on the evaluation, underwriting, structuring, and closing of BFR/SFR debt and equity transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility with the team to review and evaluate all opportunities presented to the BFR/SFR team
  • Provide all market research, analytical and packaging responsibilities to the other team members in terms of analyzing the viability of a transaction and evaluating possible structuring alternatives for a transaction; work closely with the Packaging Specialist to prepare the packaging to effectively "sell" the opportunity to capital providers
  • Execute deep dive research into identifying new capital sources, primarily focusing on family office, multi-family office and other non-institutional capital sources that have allocations to real estate investment
  • Work collaboratively with the team to timely track the sourcing the debt and equity capital for all deal
  • Continually research new information on the BFR/SFR sector including market information, closed transactions, new entrants into the sector, etc.
  • Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned, from time to time


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (prefer finance, accounting and/or real estate concentration)
  • A minimum of 2 years of commercial real estate analysis experience preferred
  • Experience with equity and structured finance transactions preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent financial modeling skills including thorough knowledge of Excel required
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook and Word, and ability to learn Salesforce and other company software as needed
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently without constant supervision
  • Ability to accurately and productively handle multiple tasks during time sensitive situations
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines when appropriate
  • Ability to problem solve and exercise independent judgement while displaying a high degree of initiative and desire to continuously learn
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis to other company offices for client and potential client meetings, training or support
