Your role:

The Americas Business Manager is an exciting opportunity to drive the execution of sales and operational strategies for one of MilliporeSigma's most innovative business units.

Reporting directly to the Genome Engineering and Modulation Franchise Head, this challenging role will directly impact the growth of an industry leading suite of products and services for functional genomics, genome editing, and cell line engineering.

The Americas Business Manager will have broad access to key stakeholders within the organization, including Sales, R&D, Marketing, and Operations. Success in this role requires an individual that can effectively leverage relationships in a matrixed environment, develop strategic plans, and drive initiatives to meet revenue growth and other key business objectives.

As the single point of contact for all commercial organizational relationships in the Americas, a strong scientific background will be essential to engage with colleagues and customers on a scientific and operational basis.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of, and relationships with key opinion leaders in functional genomics and gene editing fields and will have demonstrated success in a Life Science sales role with comfort and familiarity managing a complex sales process in academic, biotech, and pharma accounts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree with 8+ years' experience, MS/PhD degree with 3+ years' experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of current gene editing tools for functional genomic analysis and cell line engineering.
  • Working knowledge of the various applications of CRISPR, base editors, and RNAi.
  • Comfortable presenting technical scientific information to colleagues, scientists, purchasing agents, and C suite audiences.
  • Experience with regional revenue forecasting and opportunity funnel management, pricing analytics and strategies, VOC collection to inform business decisions, and sales team enablement.
  • Proficient with Salesforce and other CRM/ERP management systems.
  • Familiarity with e-procurement platforms such as SAP/Ariba and Jaggaer.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, creative, open-minded, curious, and driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excited to travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Possess a tireless commitment to delivering the next generation of leading-edge genomic tools enabling scientists engaged in foundational discovery around the globe.
