SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Admission Counselor/Campus Visit (Experience) Coordinator serves as the lead in-house admission counselor responsible for meeting with prospective students and their families. This position is responsible for planning and executing campus visits for prospective students and their families by providing a meaningful experience that helps them imagine their lives at Schreiner University. Responsibilities also include building personalized visit agendas, planning and implementing events, and supervising the Schreiner Student Ambassador team and Admission work-study students. The person in this position is expected to be present at all on-campus Office of Admission events and off-campus events as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Represent Schreiner University in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
  • Advise prospective students and their families of admission requirements and financial aid process and status.
  • Coordinate with admission and financial aid staff to ensure a student's successful transition from prospective student to enrolled.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding yearly campus visit goals.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for visitors, before, during and after their personalized visits.
  • Develops and deploys communications relevant to the campus visit program to target segments through the funnel.
  • Oversee the scheduling, promotion and daily operations of the campus visit program and serve as the main point of contact throughout the visit process.
  • Respond to visit inquiries and serve as the main point of contact throughout the pre-visit process. and securing time and travel commitment from campus visitors.
  • Plan and execute the following recruitment events: open houses, college day/night programs, receptions, alumni events, and all other approved functions.
  • Serves on the Admission events planning team.
  • Market on-campus programs to prospective students and their families while assisting in the planning and implementation of recruiting events such as Schreiner Saturday, Juniors in June, information sessions and other activities on and off campus.
  • Training, implementation, supervisory and professional development aspects of the Student Ambassador program and supervises work-study students. Maintain schedules and approve timecards.
  • Anticipate individual visitors needs and interests in order to design appropriate and appealing visit agenda.
  • Maintain accurate records and contact lists for prospective students, their families, and internal Schreiner University faculty and staff involved in the campus visit/event process into the CRM database.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospective students through visits, email, written communication, telephone calls and other contact.
  • Establish relationships with all stakeholders on and off the Schreiner University
  • Collaborate and communicate professionally and effectively with diverse constituencies, including faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents and counselors.
  • Facilitate communication among employees, students and management through interpersonal and professional communication techniques.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning all matters in the Office of Admission and Financial Aid and adheres to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • The position requires the ability to work evenings, partial weekends, and campus visit programs as needed for success.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Four-year college degree or higher preferred
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred
  • Willingness to work weekends and weekend hours to meet job requirements.
  • Strong computer skills required. Must have the ability to use the Internet, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Calendar).
  • Demonstrated proficiency using a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Previous supervision experience
  • Ability to adjust, adapt and persist regardless of setbacks.
  • Possess an enthusiastic and positive attitude with a strong work ethic and desire to serve others.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to set goals, organize and prioritize daily activities, exercise necessary follow-up, and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet job requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to listen attentively, convey understanding and persuasively communicate the value of Schreiner's education to various constituencies.
  • Sales ability to "close" campus visits and event participation.
  • Use of sound judgment, maturity and responsibility.
  • Driving is required; therefore, candidate must have a valid Texas driver's license, related insurance and good driving record.
