The Administrative Office of the Courts is taking applications for one full time Administrative Assistant position. This is responsible administrative support work for upper-level management staff of the Administrative Office of Courts. Work involves, but is not limited to, the handling of confidential administrative matters, performing complex support and related clerical duties for administrative staff and involves decision-making responsibilities requiring considerable organizational skills, independent judgment and sole ownership of projects or major tasks.

Examples of Work
Responsibilities include providing complex support, as needed, for assigned administrative functions such as collecting/reviewing/summarizing information; extensive and timely data entry; filing program-related paperwork and records; timely and accurately responding to telephone and email inquiries; tracking preparation of administrative, operational or similar reports or informational summaries concerning workload, budgeting, staffing, or legislative topics; and planning, organizing, and implementing work assignments, as directed, in related administrative service areas. As directed, arranges and attends meetings, drafts meeting minutes, prepares and distributes agendas, schedules and other material; and compiles annual statistical reports. Assists in the preparation and successful execution of special events and projects. This includes processing registrations, preparing and compiling materials, uploading audio files for rating, and supporting AOCP staff during events. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school with at least four years of administrative secretarial or general secretarial experience in a law or business office.

Preferred Qualifications: College degree. The ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to establish and cultivate good working relationships with coworkers, individuals in positions of authority, criminal justice agencies, district and county court staff, probation staff, compacting states, field officers, and the general public. The ability to accept direction from multiple supervisors, to grasp and adhere to principles of confidentiality. To organize and manage time and work space, and working knowledge of modern office equipment, including software applications, telephone and video conferencing.

Knowledge of the judicial branch of government, the organizational structure of the Nebraska Probation/Court System. Highly motivated to work independently and meet critical deadlines. Organized and detail oriented with great interpersonal skills and communication skills regardless of form or format. Practical and comprehensive knowledge on writing professional reports, including the mechanical and technical elements of report writing, to be familiar with the planning and execution of a structured writing process with a high level of skill in written English including spelling, grammar and punctuation. Proficient in developing, navigating and reporting data from spreadsheets. Experience planning and hosting events.
