Centralia College is located on a 30-acre campus in the heart of Centralia, Washington and has been serving students in the Lewis County region since 1925. As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, ELL, and personal enrichment classes. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees: Information Technology - Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (Business), Behavioral Healthcare and Teacher Education.

In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Since the college is committed to the success of all students, Centralia College also provides educational programs at two corrections centers in southwest Washington - Garrett Heyns Education Center located in Shelton, Washington and the Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, Washington. In addition to Green Hill School in Chehalis, Washington. In total, the college serves more than 7,000 students annually. Job Description Centralia College is creating a pool of qualified applicants to teach developmental and college-transfer math courses on-campus and online to freshmen and sophomores on a part-time basis. The college's need for part-time instructors varies from quarter to quarter.Online courses are typically taught asynchronously using the Canvas learning management system. In-person teaching opportunities may arise at the college's main campus in Centralia; its satellite campus in Morton, WA; the Chehalis Tribal Center in Oakville, WA; or within correctional and juvenile detention facilities in the area. Applicants must reside in Washington State.Duties and Responsibilities Mathematics instructors are responsible for teaching a variety of courses, ranging from pre-algebra to calculus and introduction to statistics, as well as, in conjunction with the college's Bachelor's of Applied Science (BAS) in Teacher's Education program, math for elementary education.Qualifications Master's or higher degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics.Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience in mathematics, community college level preferred.Skill in increasing inclusivity and closing opportunity gaps for historically marginalized studentsAbility to adapt teaching to various student learning styles.Demonstrated experience effectively and respectfully working with students, staff, and colleagues of various cultural, ethnic, racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, college learning management systems, and other appropriate instructional technologies.

Centralia College faculty are represented by the Centralia College Federation of Teachers, Local No. 4469, AFT/AAFL-CIO.

COMPENSATION:

Current lecture/lab rates ($886.41 - $1,358.22 per credit)
